Beled Hawa District, is in Gedo Province of Jubaland State of Somalia. It borders both Kenya and Ethiopia therefore making it the financial capital of the larger Gedo region. The District has a population of approximately 200,000 people. There are more than 40 Locations and many Sub Locations than fall under the Beled Hawa District Administration. Being in an Arid zone, the District, in collaboration with local and international organisations has implemented several Agricultural projects in Malkariye, Odaa and Gawitho locations. Some of the products of these projects are eventually exported.
